Threaded inserts for Makita motor on DRE. These need to be installed in the plastic motor housing (DREM54) for the screws that connect the motor to the mounting plate. The motors we sell already have these installed.

Install Instructions

• Remove the 2 brush caps and brushes
• Remove the 4 screws connecting the gearbox to the motor housing
• Separate the gearbox from the motor housing
• Using a #3 drill bit, drill the screw holes in the housing about 5/8 deep (16mm)
• Thread a 8-32 socket head screw (XAECE) into an insert (a drop of oil on the screw is recommended)
• Thread the insert into the motor housing until flush with the plastic housing
• Remove the screw from the insert
• Repeat for the other 3 inserts
• Re-install the gearbox, brushes and brush caps
